Childish Gambino Will Be The Voice Of Spiderman Animated Series
Actor, Comedian, Writer, and rapper Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino has been lobbying for the role of Spiderman via fan support (#donald4spiderman) for years. Even with support from the legendary Stan Lee, he never recieved the role for obvious trivial reasons. He didn't get the role of the 2012 blockbuster, but will lend his voice for the upcoming animated series.
Glover will play bi-racial (Hispanic/Black) character Miles Morales on Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors. The 13-year-old Miles is Spider-Man in an alternate universe. This world’s web slinger, Peter Parker (Drake Bell), meets Miles as he jumps dimensions chasing the supervillain the Green Goblin.
In a recent interview Childish Gambino explained his thoughts on the recent role.
“That’s the great part about the Spider-Man costume: He can be anybody,” said Glover. “Spider-Man could be a girl. Spider-Man could be an old man. You don’t know. So I just tried to be as me as possible, because you’re always just going to bring it back to yourself when you watch the show.”
As an Uncle and father to a son someday it's great to see the emergence of black superhero's.
